What product should I use to well protect solar panel systems from frost?: Aligel 1.2 US.P. and Aligel Heat Change are both antifreeze monopropylene glycol-based agents which, thanks to their non-toxicity and to their high thermal shock resistance, are also used in vacuum solar panels.
What antifreeze product should I use in a food factory?: Thanks to the absence of amines, nitrites and substances harmful to human health or the environment in its inhibitor package, monopropylene glycol is the main ingredient of Aligel 1.2 U.S.P. and Aligel Heat Change and is suitable for use in the food industry.
My radiant floor heating system heats "here and there", in a non-homogenous way. What should I do to make the most of it?: Some weeds have certainly grown due to the system air permeability, also helped by the favourable temperature of water at 40-45°C. In these cases circulate Thermakil using the special high-prevalence pump Disiflux to clean the system. Generally 30 to 60 minutes are enough to decompose also the most obstinate aerobic and anaerobic bacteria.
Is there a specific product to dissolve mud formed by superheated antifreeze in solar panel systems?: Yes. Solar clean is a fast-acting and effective detergent especially conceived to quickly remove sludge and mud produced by solar fluid degradation due to its excessive exploitation and to thermal shocks which may clog the collector tube.
What product should I use with very hard water which forms limescale deposits inside the system and narrows the fluid passage?: In case of limescale / deposits you need to add polyphosphates to the water in the system to prevent limescale formation and the consequent corrosion due to the formation of carbon dioxide.
What product should be used to prevent limescale formation in food plants and in domestic water?: Products from the Polifos series, which are available in tablets (Polifos Ricariche), crystals (Polifos Cristalli), powder (Polifos Polvere) and liquid forms (Polifos Fluid) are compliant with EC Regulations for use in food and domestic water. They are also recommended by Law 46/90, Standard UNI CTI 8065.
Shall I change polyphosphate crystals even though they haven't completely dissolved after about 6 months?: Yes. After this time has elapsed active ingredients have been leached out; so, if you want total protection you need to change the bag every six months.
Can Atigel mono ethylene antifreeze be used simultaneously with Filmax?: Absolutely! There are no interactions between the two products; in fact, they have been formulated to be used together inside the system.
How can my heating system benefit from the use of Filmax or Filmax 9.0 and what difference would they make as regards anti-corrosion protection?: Both products prevent carbonates from adhering and protect the system against corrosion; the main difference is that Filmax 9.0 is a corrosion inhibitor which shall be specifically used when the fluid circulating in the system does not exert sufficient passivation on the metal parts it consists of, for instance after excessive exploitation of the circulating antifreeze it is necessary to replenish the inhibiting salt package.
What causes a loud noise in my boiler and what product should I use to solve this problem?: Noise in the boiler is caused by local boiling water. This usually happens when the boiler's internal surface overheats due to limescale deposits or to the presence of mud which has hardened due to heat. After five years all systems can suffer from noise, and new boilers installed in old systems are particularly vulnerable. Filmax 8.0 is a FDA product ideal to solve these types of problems thanks to its special noise reducing, deoxygenating action and capacity to deprive water of iron.
Is there an easy-to-use descaling product?: Yes. Disinex is an inhibited acid descaling product provided with a colour change indicator up to colour exhaustion, which can be used for a wide range of applications: to remove rust and corrosion from metal structures, to remove limescale or silicon deposits from pipes and closed circulation circuits of boilers and heat exchangers, to pickle concrete and to remove oxidation traces from different types of metal. The initial pink colour of Disinex changes to orange-yellow when the acid loses its effectiveness.
Can Fastop be left to circulate in the system once the leak has been eliminated?: Once the system has been sealed the product can be left in the circuit for a maximum of thirty days. After that time the system shall be emptied, washed and refilled with water.
If the fluid in the system contains some additives or antifreezes, can I repair leaks without having to empty it?: Yes, using Fastop-Solar . This product is a self-sealing liquid especially conceived for circuits containing antifreezes or anti-corrosion additives.
Is Solarflux pump provided with vent valve?: No, normally the vent valve is installed in the solar system.
If I empty the central heating system, can I drain its contents in my septic tank?: Yes. However, since it contains chemicals we recommend you dispose of them according to regulations in force, if possible going to and asking certified companies.
The antifreeze pH level has fallen below 7.5 - 8; what product shall I use to restore corrosion protection?: Filmax 9.0 is a corrosion inhibitor for heating and cooling systems to be used when the fluid circulating inside the system does not exert sufficient passivation on the metal parts it consists of. The decrease in the pH value shows a reduction in the alkaline reserve and consequently in corrosion protection.
How can I add additives such as anti-corrosion products, mud dissolving agents and weed killers to my system?: Using a manual charge pump or, more simply with Filtank, a proportioner for heating system additives, practical and inexpensive suitable for boilers and radiators.
Is there a specific product to treat and neutralize acid solutions before draining them off?: Yes. Neutral is a basic product which neutralizes the residual acidity after descaling in heating systems, heat exchangers, radiators, etc.
What product should I use to sanitize a water collection tank?: WL-Sanifast is the ideal product. It is a stabilized chlorine dioxide-based product, much faster and more efficient than traditional chlorine, which does not leave any traces or unpleasant smells in water; it has been especially conceived to treat harvested water in tanks and basins, thanks to its bactericidal, biocidal and virucidal action.
What concentration of WL-Sanifast should I use to make water in a storage tank drinkable?: Generally, water treated with WI-Sanifast is considered drinkable when the concentration of chlorine dioxide in it comprises of between 0.2 and 0.4 ppm or mg/l.
A 1.5-g tablet is enough to treat approximately 200 l of water with a concentration of dissolved chlorine dioxide of 0.5 ppm (legal limit) whereas the 6-g tablets can sanitize approx. 1,200 litres of water, always with a concentration of chlorine dioxide of 0.5 ppm.
How can I solve the problem of Legionella pneumophila and Pseudomonas aeruginosa inside my domestic hot water system?: To solve the problem of Legionella and Pseudomonas it is recommended to treat domestic hot water with WL-Sanifast, a dioxide chlorine-based product with a broad biocidal spectrum capable of sanitizing the entire system in one single treatment.
Is there an analysis kit to measure Hardness, Molybdenum and Iron values in the system's water?: Yes, Facot Chemicals offers its clients specific colorimetric assay Kit to measure hardness (in French degrees), Molybdenum (mg/l or ppm) and Iron values (mg/l or ppm).
Is there an effective product to repair leaks on submerged tubes and tanks?: Epostix is a bicomponent epoxy filler in one product especially conceived to quickly and easily seal leaks in swimming pools, tanks and permanent gaskets; it is indispensable in houses, workshops, cars, boats, caravans, etc.

Can I use Silicon Sealing Tape on solar panel joints?: Definitely Yes. Silicon Sealing Tape is compatible with all metals and plastic materials and is suitable for use in solar panel systems. If fact, it alters neither the smell, nor the taste or purity of water.
What is the maximum temperature at which I can use Silicon Sealing Tape?: Silicon Sealing Tape is compliant with all regulations concerning gas and cold drinkable water, hot water and glycolated water up to 160 °C.
When used with gas systems Silicon Tape can be used up to a pressure of 5 Bars at a temperature of 70 °C. When used with water systems it can be used up to a pressure of 16 Bars at a temperature of 95 °C, and up to a pressure of 7 Bars at a temperature of 130 °C.
I need to glue tiles, marble, different construction materials such as metal or insulating panels in a building site quickly and safely! What can I use?: Nautibond is a very high quality new generation MS polymer-based sealant-adhesive product. It can be painted and it adheres to wet surfaces, too. Nautibond can also be used to glue and seal boat decks, metal structures and bodyworks, cold rooms, natural stone and marble, PVC, glass, wood, cement, etc.
Could you suggest an inexpensive paintable sealant?: Acrilone is a single-component paintable fungicide polyacrylate dispersion-based sealant with a good weather resistance. It is particularly recommended for joints in prefabricated units since it allows movements and deformations up to 15% of the original joint width.
Is there a Teflon-based sealant in your product range?: PTFE Seal is a removable anaerobic sealant containing PFTE. It is suitable to make threads of chemical products, gas, LPG, methane, hydrocarbons, oils, naphtha, hot and cold water, compressed air, etc., tight. It is suitable for all types of metal, including stainless steel and it is certified by WRAS and DVGW.
Is there a product capable of sealing threads bigger than 1.5 inches?: Yes. Big Seal is an anaerobic sealant especially conceived for big threads of gas, LPG, methane, hydrocarbons, oils, naphtha, water, etc.
What product should I use to degrease surfaces before using special adhesives or sealants?: Before sealing, it is recommended to treat surfaces with Clean Seal, a degreasing detergent capable of cleaning any material before using special adhesives (Gas seal, Neogit, etc.)
Is there a liquid sealant provided at the same time as antirust protection?: Yes, Kobaltite is a white liquid mastic. It is a drying product suitable for sealing threaded joints or flange joints, resisting up to 300°C. It is suitable for sanitary and industrial systems, hot water, cold water, vapour, gas, methane, air and liquid foodstuff systems, etc. Moreover, Kobaltite exerts an anti-corrosion and antioxidant protection and ensures perfect gasket tightness both at high and low temperature. It equally adheres to iron, brass, copper, aluminium, cast iron, etc.

What would you suggest?: Dissol is a fast-acting liquid sulphuric acid-based product for unclogging toilets, sinks and industrial drains; Dissol is inhibited against corrosion attack on metals and does not damage pipes. It works on all materials which usually clog except for plastic materials.
What product shall I use to decompose and sanitize faeces and sewage in chemical toilets in camper vans, caravans or boats?: Nautichem is a specific product to solve this type of problem. Is there a certified absorbent product to remove sulphuric acid which has spilled or leaked from forklift trucks or car batteries?: Neutrosol is a certified absorbent and neutralizing powder for use on sulphuric acid from batteries; when in contact with sulphuric acid this product absorbs and neutralizes the compound making it inert.

How much Pool Più shall I use to increase the pH value of the water in my swimming pool by half a point?: It is advisable to pre-dilute the product in a bucket before pouring it into the pool; generally 8 ÷10 grams of Pool Più are enough for a cubic metre of water to be treated to increase its pH value by 0.1 units.
Is there a product capable of exerting a bluing, flocculating and anti-weed action in the water of my swimming pool?: Yes, Pool Triplex is a product capable of slowly releasing the active chlorine contained in it thus ensuring its triple action over time.
What would you suggest to keep the water in my swimming pool clean and sanitized in winter, too?: Pool Winter is a wintering product for swimming pools preventing the proliferation of weeds and bacteria also in seasons when the swimming pool is left unused. One single treatment at the end of the season is sufficient to winter water. Use 3 litres per 100 cubic metres of water.
Can I use Kit Analisi Cloro (Chlorine Assay kit) to measure the concentration of free chlorine in the water of my swimming pool?: Definitely yes. Kit Analisi Cloro is a simple colorimetric assay kit to measure the quantity of free and total chlorine; it is sufficient to take one sample of water using the test tube, add the first two reactants provided and then compare the solution colour with the chromatic scale to determine the quantity of free chlorine in g/l. To know the total chlorine just add the third reactant.
